DONT BE DUPED BY BOGUS DOORSTEP CALLERS We have received a number of reports of two men in Warsop falsely claiming to be working for the local council, offering to install home insulation at a discounted rate. Whilst there is no reason to believe an offence has been committed at this stage, wed like to remind you all to be on your guard against unscrupulous traders or distraction burglars. You are in complete control when dealing with an unexpected caller. If you are not sure, dont open the door and certainly dont invite strangers into your home. Always ask for identification. Cross check the company they claim to work for by calling that company with a number from a phone directory. Never call the number on the card they present to you. Perhaps ask them to come back at a time when a relative or friend can be with you. Report unusual or suspicious activity of this nature to us on 101.
