DON’T BE ADJUSTED TO THE CULTURE OF THE WORLD Daily Devotional “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. Romans 12:2 As we climax the age, it is very important that we fix our attention the more on God and like The Word Translation of the Bible puts it in Romans 12 verse 2, I am praying that you would take your everyday ordinary life, that is your bathing, your entering the bus, your eating in the canteen, your working in the office, your buying in the market, driving your car, eating or sleeping and place it before God as an offering. When you place your offering in the offering box you don’t take it back. So also our bodies belong to God. It is the temple of the Holy Ghost and so you don’t take it back. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for yourself. Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead fix your attention on God and you will be changed from inside. Don’t join them in wearing dresses that expose bare bottom or follow the things they do. Rather bring out what is in you because you are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. What I am saying in essence is that you are not meant to follow them. They are to follow you. Some sisters wear very tight fitting trousers that I am afraid may tear. It’s not that I am against wearing of trousers but if you must wear one, it must be a decent trouser. In fact, there are very nice trouser suits that can pass anywhere in the world. The word “Holy and acceptable” as used by the King James Version means presenting your body as something God can receive. For instance, if you jump into the bed of fornication, you can not invite the Holy Spirit there. The fact that you travelled out away from your family does not give you the license to become unfaithful to your wife or to your husband. Yes, your spouse is not there, but God is watching you. Little wonder the Bible said that the last days will be like the days of Noah where people were marrying and giving into marriage and were involved in all kinds of debauchery and then the son of man will come.
