DOT-7 holds mobile accreditation to 26 resorts in Siquijor SIQUIJOR (PIA)—The Department of Tourism (DOT-7) conducted recently a mobile accreditation to 26 resorts in the province. The mobile accreditation team was headed by DOT Chief Tourism Operations Officer Judy Gabato with DOT accreditation officer Dennis Legaspi. Participating resorts and other tourism establishments were the Riverside Guesthouse, Casa la Playa Resort, The Sylvia, Dondeezco Beach Resort, Royal Cliff Resort, Dastraum Guesthouse, The Bruce, Cliff Side Beach Resort & Cottages, The Danish Lagoon, Diamond de Siquijor, Gold sky Seaview, Inifnity Heights Resort, Hard Rock Cottages, JJ’s Backpackers Village, Inn the Shade, Rady’s Pension House & Snack Bar, Triad Resto Café, Nathandrei express, DJ3-Southtown Room and Board, Isla del Fuego Mountain Resort Corp, Townview Guesthouse, Cocogrove Beach Resort, Swiss Stars Restaurant, Hambilica Seaview, Charisma Beach Resort, and the Coral Cay Beach Resort. Gabato said, the initiative is part of the preparation for the increase of tourist influx in the region as the tourism secretary has proposed a 10-million target of tourists coming to the country next year. Tourism ambassador and vice-governor Fernando Avanzado also said that the accreditation is a good start for the province’s vision of becoming a top tourist destination. He expects all tourism facilities in the province to be accredited by the DOT. At present, only Cocogrove Beach and Dive Resort in Tubod, San Juan is accredited and classified as “A” accommodation establishment in the province. Avanzado also said various measures have been done in order to put the islanbd among the tourist destinations in the country. Meanwhile, to avail of online accreditation, applicants are also advised to visit http//acreditationonline.tourism.gov.ph. The site contains the steps for application, general requirements of both the new and renewal applicants, additional requirements for accommodation establishments and the corresponding accreditation fees. Accreditation fee can be sent to DOT Account thru LBP. Renewal of accreditation will be done every November 30.
