DRAMA MINISTERS OPEN-GATE MESSAGE 9 BLESSING YOUR LAND OF ORIGIN 1 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV [1] Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, [2] for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, [4] who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. The story of Nigerian International footballer, Victor Moses, was a very touching and inspiring one. Born in Kaduna in 1990 to a christian parents. He grew up in the Northern part of Nigeria, with a keen love for soccer. At age 11, he came home from one of his games and found his parents killed and thier house razed down by the religious rioters. He was one of the pathetic victims of the religious riots in Nigeria. He was made an orphan by the senseless religious madness of some group of people in the country. He was just one of several victims that had been seriously hurt by the Nigeria nation. So, he had every reason to be mad with this country called Nigeria. His uncle came from England and took him along with him to London. There, he enrolled in a school and continued his hobby, the game of soccer. He was noticed early and enlisted in the school team. From there, he began to play for the high school and then, the college and later began to play for big English teams. In 2005, Victor Moses, choose to represent his adopted home of England, featuring for under-16 team. Then, he was promoted to under-17 in 2007 and played in UEFA European U-17 Championship in Belgium, scoring three times. In 2008, he played for England U-19 at the 2008 UEFA European U-19 Championship in the Czech Republic. And he was promoted to U-21 at the beginning of 2010-11 Premier League. In 2011, he wrote to FIFA to switch nationality so that he could be allowed to play for Nigeria. He was called up to Nigerias 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. He scored two penalties in their final group stage game against Ethiopia, which Nigeria needed to win to go through. Victor Moses was selected for Nigerias squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and he played all the four games as Nigeria finished second in their group. What makes the story of this young man special? He was a victim of Nigerians religious riot...the rioters killed his parents and razed his home at the tender age of 11. The ungovernable religious situations of his mother-land rendered him an orphan at an early age of his life. While he was still tender and needed his parental care, bad leadership and evil religious orientation threw him into unspeakable anguish. He left home briefly to play on the field and came back to meet ashes of his house and corpses of his parents. He had every right and reasons to be angry at this nation, Nigeria. Once he was lucky to escape into a foreign land, a land flowing with milk and honey, a land where their NEPA does not take light away and their roads and highways have no potholes; he had no reason to have looked back to come and do this country any good whatsoever. However, I love his spirit. Probably, because he came from a christian home and his father was a pastor. Probably, because he must have been well taught about the sacredness of the sovereign Decisions of God to have made him a Nigerian. Probably, because he must have been taught about the will of God to love our Nation no matter what happens in that country. He had become a star already in England. He had become a member of the England national team. He would have opted to play for England in the World Cup, but he looked back in the direction of the country that had killed his parents and forgave their religious madness. He came back to play for Nigeria and score goals for his Motherland. The worst of nations is created by God and He planted men and women in those nations. No one had a choice of where to be born. And no one had a choice of the land to be born. You could change your nationalities by ordinary paper and passports, but you can not change your Blood and your historical background. Once you are a Nigerian, you are Nigerian for life, irrespective of your new nationality. God can never make mistake. CNN and other world news carried the BREAKNEWS: NIGERIA DECLARED EBOLA-FREE!!!, and we jumped for joy that our God answers prayers. All those 100, 70, and 21 days prayers and fasting conducted by many churches; all those 40 days prayers and fasting of many drama ministers were never in vain afterall. God of Nigeria answers prayers. While we were rejoicing in our heart for a victory which the United Nations called: An Astonishing Success, can you imagine that some Nigerians outside the country were not so happy and excited. Why? Because, they were never expecting any good news from Nigeria. I heard someone said the announcement from UNO about the Ebola-Free Nigeria was politically motivated, that the UNO was bribed by the government. Then, I was furious and I shouted at the young man who said so: What exactly are you expecting? Dont you expect an answer to prayers? Churches prayed, people interceeded and we were expecting the Lord to hear and answer and He did. Dont you expect Ebola to leave Nigeria? Far away in Canada, some evenings ago, a young Nigeria, during a general discussion, suddenly opened a portion of the Bible saying that is what the Bible said about Nigeria: Isaiah 18:2 ...To a people terrible from their beginning onward, A nation powerful and treading down, Whose land the rivers divide.” Then, I was very sad again. I faulted his conclusion, I told my wife, the passage is not talking about Nigeria, but about another country, about Egypt. Do you see how some people hate this country. What is our Responsibility to the Country the Lord had planted us, either we are residing in Nigeria or outside of it, Nothing can ever take the Nigerian-ness from your blood or from your root again, for whatever the tree the Lord has planted can never be uproted. What therefore, does God requires from us for the land of our origin? 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV [1] Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, [2] for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, [4] who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. That is the will of God: Prayers, Intercessions, Supplicatons and thanksgiving to God for Nigeria, our own country. Not, Evil-wishes, curses, evil-pronouncement, anger, hatred and bitterness. As prodigal as Israel was, God punished them and still brought them back to Himself. Psalm 122:6-8 NKJV [6] Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. [7] Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces. [8] For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, Peace be within you. FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR LIFE AND THAT OF YOUR BRETHREN, COMPANIONS AND FAMILY, CAN YOU PROPHESY UPON YOUR NATION NIGERIA? WRITE A SENTENCE OF PROPHESY UPON YOUR NATION. Good Morning. MIKE BAMILOYE.
