DREAM MOTORSPORT COMMITS TO AUSTRALIAN FORMULA 4 CHAMPIONSHIP Victorian-based open wheel racing team DREAM Motorsport today announced it will contest the inaugural CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship in 2015. DREAM will expand its operations to run four cars in the new championship, in addition to three Formula Fords which DREAM intends to run in the Australian Formula Ford Series (AFFS). DREAM (Dean Randle Engineering and Motorsport) is the brainchild of Dean Randle, a former Australian Sports Sedan champion, racecar preparer and engineer. DREAM currently contests the AFFS with 18-year-old Thomas Randle and 17-year-old Liam McAdam, who are placed second and seventh in the series standings respectively. Heading into this weekend‟s final round at Phillip Island, Randle remains in contention to win the AFFS at the team‟s first attempt. The young team recently expanded to a new 900m² race shop in Dandenong, Victoria and has enlisted the services of British engineer Wayne Mackie, who brings experience from A1GP, Formula 3 and GT racing in Europe as well as championship success in British and European Formula Ford. DREAM intends to utilise its Formula Ford program as a stepping stone for drivers looking to progress to Formula 4. In addition to its technical capabilities, DREAM has aligned with specialist motorsport management and marketing company Velocity Management Group to expose its drivers to the vital off-track elements of professional motorsport. Through its association with Velocity, DREAM can offer its drivers an insight into media and public relations, sponsorship, fitness, diet, lifestyle and more. Velocity is the industry leader for youth development in Australian motorsport, having founded and managed the Fujitsu „Cool‟ Driver Program from 2011-2013 and recently playing an integral role in the careers of Scott McLaughlin, Cameron Waters, Shae Davies and Renee Gracie. The CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship will be held over seven rounds from July 2015 - all of which will support the V8 Supercars Championship. The champion driver will receive a prize of $250,000 to be funded towards an approved category that the driver will progress to, while the second, third and fourth placed drivers will receive a test drive with a V8 Supercars Dunlop Series team. Dean Randle, Team Owner - Dream Motorsport: “We are incredibly excited to be expanding DREAM Motorsport and entering Formula 4 ahead of its debut season in Australia. Never before has Australia had an open wheel racing championship officially certified by the FIA and genuinely run to the same regulations as the rest of the world. It is a very exciting time for Australian open wheel racing, coupled with the resurgence of Formula Ford at national series level. “DREAM stands for developing future motorsport champions, and when CAMS announced its vision for Formula 4 earlier this year it was clear that we had to be a part of it.” Cameron McConville, General Manager - Motorsport Development, CAMS This is great news for the category and CAMS is delighted that DREAM Motorsport has committed to the CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship as part of their youth development program, which includes the Australian Formula Ford Series. Dean knows the motor sport landscape well and his Formula Ford operation has been extremely competitive in its debut year. “Theres every reason to expect DREAM Motorsport to be genuinely competitive from the outset of the inaugural 2015 Formula 4 Championship.
