DRIVING UK - BG update 12th June left Sofia and drove via Vidin, romania, hungary, vienna, cologne, luxembourg and channel tunnel. romanian road north was single carriage way, good road conditions, cheap petrol, no problems at all, entering hungary was terrible, first the border guards wanted a bribe, when I refused they took my landrover apart until I went to their office andd got one of the senior guards who spoke english when I said i would report them having taken the number down of their uniform. The rest of journey was easy but fuel cost in Austria and germany was very expensive. Made a 20 mile divertion to get petrol in luxemborg at £1.05 per litre.Back in the uk on 16th June total cost of fuel, hotels and tolss was £590. 29th June left Uk with wife and two kids and cat via channel tunnel, belguim, luxembourg, france, switzerland, italy to Ancona ferry to Greece Igomentus and then 370 miles to our house in Ratentsi. Total cost inc ferry, hotel and petrol £630 but no problems at all. I would recommend the ancona ferry to greece but DO NOT book online ahead, we took the chance and booked on the day, its about 50 % cheaper. My wife speaks fluent greek and they told here that its more expensive online for gullible tourists ! Petrol is abput £1.09 in bulgariia and £1.17 in romania and £1.72 in italy and £1.31 in the UK. The service at nearly every Bulgarian petrol station is first classs, why cant UK sell perol at their prices ?? July 7th
