DRUMSHANBO NOTES HAUNTED HOUSE RETURNS The countdown is nearly over, The Haunted House, Drumshanbo brings the first round of terror this Saturday 26th October from 7pm to 8:30pm for small scares and from 8:30pm to 10pm for BIG scares. Small scares €3 per person and BIG scares €5 per person. Over 12s advised for the BIG scares. And if that’s not enough, we bring yet more terror on Halloween night. QUIZ NIGHT A quiz night in aid of the South Leitrim Special Olympics Club will be held in Berry’s Tavern, Drumshanbo, on Friday 1st November 2013 at 9.30p.m. Teams of four €20 (per team), with prizes galore. Come along for a fun evening in support of local athletes. AN TÓSTAL RACE NIGHT A race Night in aid of An Tóstal takes place in Conway’s on Sunday 27th October commencing at 9.30pm. TIDY TOWNS NOTES It’s a bit early to be talking about Christmas but we would like to advise you of two forthcoming events being organised by Tidy Towns (Pride in Drumshanbo). Put these dates in your diary now, so you won’t miss out on these fun and informative events in December that will put you in the mood for Christmas. The first takes place on Tuesday 10th December when Sham, Proprietor/Chef at the Cottage Restaurant in Jamestown will put on a display of Smart Festive Food at Berry’s Tavern, the High Street, Drumshanbo. He will give advice on smart festive shopping and demonstrate how to cook smart over the festive season. The second event is scheduled for Friday 13th December and will be Tidy Towns Christmas Tea Party. It will be open to everyone and will be a fun event. We will provide further details of these events well in advance of their taking place, so keep an eye on the Tidy Towns Notes and the Community Notice Board. THE BASE YOUTH CAFÉ We are looking for volunteers for the fourth and fifth class groups. If you are available for one hour on a Thursday evening please contact youth café. Training and support provided. Café opening Hours; Wednesday; 4pm to 5.30pm Lifestyle Project. 6pm to 7.30pm Sixth class. Thursday; 4pm to 5pm fourth class. 5.30pm to 7pm fifth class. Friday; 2pm to 4.30pm Post Primary drop in for first and second years. 6.30pm to 8.30pm Post primary drop in for 3rd years and up. Twenty one young people from four clubs/cafes commenced their junior leader training on Tuesday last. Thank you to the volunteers who travelled with them. One World Week training will take place in The Base youth café on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm. All volunteers and leaders welcome.
