DTI Aklan brings designers, consultants to help Aklanon entrepreneurs Kalibo, Aklan. Buyer-Merchandisers, designers and product consultants will again share to Aklanon entrepreneurs the current product and market direction in the Philippines. This, after the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Aklan in partnership with Hugod Aklanon Producers Association has scheduled a 2-day Info Session and Workshops/Product Consultations on Creating and Managing Market Driven Products and Establishing Markets. This will be on 06-07 March at Ati-Atihan Festival Hostel, Kalibo. The activity is designed to support DTI’s thrust of enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs and improving their product marketability. Ms. Cora Serrano, Buyer/Merchandiser and President, CLC Kubo Corporation will discuss the market demand/opportunities in Boracay for locally produced products while Mr. Eduardo Sonillo, President, Precious Moments Philippines and owner of Jojo’s Christmas Cottage, will talk on the market demand in specialty shops and department stores particularly in Manila. Mr. Ramon Pabillon and Ryan John Tresvalles of Design Center Philippines will highlight the importance of developing market-driven products. They will also act as the product consultants for the craft sector; while Ms. Sharlyn Joy Velasquez a consultant from Central Philippine University will provide packaging and label designs for processed food, and health & wellness products. Products that will be developed as a result of this event will be showcased in the upcoming Aklan Piña and Fiber Festival and other marketing events organized by DTI.
