Duterte may also not be picked by major political parties as standard bearer making a presidential run a rough route to take. The administration Liberal Party (LP) of President Benigno Aquino has already anointed Interior Secretary Mar Roxas as its bet for the top post; while the opposition United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of former President Joseph Estrada is fielding Vice President Jejomar Binay. Duterte’s chances as a vice presidential bet grows bigger if he pitches camp with Aquino’s party and run as Roxas’ running mate. The above scenarios are sweeping Davao City as Roxas last week visited Davao City to discuss security matters with Duterte. Reportedly Roxas and Duterte also discussed politics and the 2016 elections in a close-door meeting. Duterte did not divulge subject of their talks but speculations are flying high that Roxas offered Duterte to be his running mate.
