DYR: THE LUTHER INVITATIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT: The Luther Invitational Basketball Tournament (LIT) began in 1953 on the initiative of John Chomay, the athletic director and senior boys basketball coach. As far as we know, LIT is the longest continuously running basketball tournament in Western Canada. - See more at: lit.ca/history#sthash.yLT6FL2v.dpuf Some great moments: Ed Robson, MC. Grouds so packed they were even sitting on the stage. One story: I was taking a Business Course at Balfour in 1964, Balfour were playing, 5 seconds left in the game. Balfour was down by one point. I was the sport writer, Balfours top scorer had the ball just over center court. I shouted (screamed is more like it) ... shoooooot ... He did with a long shot, it went through the loop and Balfour won. ALSO: See 100 years of Luther: Click on following: - https://luthercollege.edu/public/files/100th%20Anniversary%20issue.pdf
