Dad (Grant Carpenter) loved Montoursville. Along with serving on - TopicsExpress

Dad (Grant Carpenter) loved Montoursville. Along with serving on the School Board, he was one of the volunteer dads who built the baseball field behind Lyter Elementary as well as the one in Indian Park. He lived in the town from 1920, when he was three, through his death in 2008, at age 91. The only long period of time that he was away from the town was during WWII, when he served with the Armys Combat Engineers. During that time, he wrote home faithfully to his single mother. If you enjoy history, feel free to read his letters in the blog below. They are MUCH more interesting if you start at the beginning. Scroll down the page a little til you see Blog Archives on the right. Then click on 2011, then March. Start with the bottom entry and work your way up. I hope you enjoy it. P.S. There is no advertising on the blog. Its for historical interest, not for making money. carpandjudy.blogspot/
