Dad knows every pub/club/hotel from whiti to timbucktoo. He knows who use to own the pub also. He even knows someone in every town. He knows every bend and bump in the road from akl to whiti. He has a story for every one of those bends and bumps and bridges and where it floods and accidents on the roads unfortunately. Even though we think hes just a drunk he actually has some of his marbles and quite a big heart. He remembers the accident in the opc peanut that took marias partner and left kids fatherless and regrets not picking up a hitch hiker that died at a bridge.. both accidents he blames himself for. For not driving peanut that day and not getting the hitch hiker. He is still rude and abusive to dumb drivers on the road :) shame sorry bout that lady outside orewa who tried to push in while we were merging, he wouldnt listen to me hehe. He still says kiaora to anyone who walks past (shame again if they dont know him) but thank u to the locals who know him and know hes harmless. Thank u for tolerating him. Thank u for your patience towards an old harmless man. He sometimes calls me every other sister and tells everyone I live in sydney. We visited mum he tidied her grave and everyone elses. He kept saying hope mums happy I made her bed for her. Had a chat to gan actually a loooong chat. We stopped at most pubs from kamo to whiti. I got hoha at wellsford so bought him a six pack to get us thru akl. Priceless 24hrs.
