Students must select ½ cup of fruit or vegetables with their hot lunch. Wait for advisor to arrive before entering the building. All of the remaining Year of the Horse Boardwalk paintings in the lobby belong to 7th and 8th graders. Please pick yours up and take it home today. We need them to be out of the lobby. 7/8 Girls: we need to determine how many girls plan on participating in basketball in January. If you plan on playing basketball, please sign up at the office window. 7/8 Volleyball Awards: Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1:00 at Face Rock Creamery. Coach Freitag will treat you to ice cream. You must have your washed uniform turned in to the office or your coach in order to receive your certificate and pin – DEADLINE TOMORROW. Cross-Country Awards: meet after school TODAY for a cross-country run and awards party. You must have your washed uniform turned in to the office or your coach in order to receive your certificate and pin - DEADLINE TODAY. ➢ The first 9-week grading period of the year ends TOMORROW HLMS students and staff may wear school-appropriate costumes to school tomorrow •Dressing up is OPTIONAL •Costumes must be practical, safe, respectful and MODEST (NO bare shoulders, back, midriff, etc.) •NO masks are permitted •NO weapon-like props are permitted (example: fake guns, knives, swords, etc.) •All make-up, face paint, etc. must be applied at home •As with the dress code, any student whose costume is unacceptable will be asked to change into PE clothes (if available) or will be required to call home for appropriate clothing The Builders Club is sponsoring a 7th & 8th Grade Halloween Dance tomorrow evening *7:00 – 9:00 pm * $2.50 per person *Costume Contest* * Only students enrolled at HLMS may attend the dance* ➢ Conference Letters will be mailed to parents by Friday, October31 o We will also include your Lions Eye Screening results, a BUG Bingo informational letter, and a Scholastic Book Fair letter with the conference letter ➢ Report Cards will be available during conferences Nov. 6 & Nov. 7 for parents to pick up (remaining report cards will be mailed home to parents on Nov. 10) and ➢ The first BUG Bingo of the year will be held on Thursday, November 6, for 6th, 7th & 8th graders o Don’t worry, 5th graders! The whole school is excited about our upcoming Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed our way! At the Book Fair you will find the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents. Mark your calendar for our Family Event where the whole family can join in the fun. And, you can contribute books to your childs classroom library. General Admissions the tickets are $105.00 per ticket; the Booster Club receives $45.00 per ticket sold and that money will go towards sports and club teams that are need of extra funds. If you would like to purchase tickets please contact June Hinojosa @ 541-290-7592. They will be available at home basketball games as well as at Ladies Night at Hennick’s Home Center. Hennick’s Home center will also have tickets available for sale. All devices must be turned OFF and put in your BACKPACK (5/6 graders) or your LOCKER (7/8 graders) for the duration of the school day. NO EXCEPTIONS. If a staff member can SEE or HEAR your electronic device, you are not following the rule. The Good News Club, sponsored by Christian Evangelism Fellowship of Coos County, is available to middle school students. Students leave campus for one hour (during lunchtime) on Thursdays to attend sessions at Bandon Christian Fellowship, October through April. Some class time may also be missed. Interested students should pick up a flyer at the office window. This is not a school-sponsored activity. Calendar is subject to change without notice. Please check back frequently.
