Daily Announcements Tuesday, November 12, 2013 Today is B4 Attention all highschool students: Your help is needed by the grade 12 data management math class. We are trying to finish a major project but need your input. Many of you have been sent a couple of brief surveys to answers. Please check your school mail today and follow the links to answer a few questions. Need a computer... Mrs. Blairs classroom ( rm 204 ) will be available at lunch today, so you can check your mail. The Delta Athletic & Recreation Society is going to be doing some fundraising during the Delta Country Christmas and are looking for someone to assist with selling ‘glow bracelets’ to children. The Country Christmas runs Saturdays starting November 23rd with the last one being December 21st and runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All volunteer hours will count towards the community involvement hours required for your diploma. Good luck to our Jr Girls Basketball team members who will be competing for EOSSAA Supremacy tomorrow in Alexandria – a two hour drive! We will wait with anticipation for scores and updates. As well good luck to our Jr Boys’ Volleyball team as they also head to EOSSAA. (Tues and Wed) Band this week is cancelled on Wednesday after school and will run on Thursday after school. We are making final plans for our Santa Claus parade in Lyndhurst this weekend. Jr Boys Basketball tryouts begin this week. Practice times are Thursday 3-4 pm, Friday. 4-5 pm. For more info or if you cant make both tryouts but are interested in trying out please contact Scott Burns at 613-498-4201 or [email protected] SEVEC (Mon-Tues) There will be a meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Library for all parents / guardians of SEVEC participants. Each household must be represented even if you have participated in previous exchanges. Spaghetti and Caesar Salad for lunch. What a good idea!!! The students travelling to Europe in March, are planning a Spaghetti Lunch tomorrow in the Foods room. For $4 you will receive a plate of spaghetti and Caesar salad to-go. We hope that all Elementary and Secondary students and staff will help support our trip! The Elgin Rink committee has organized a skate exchange to take place on December 6th from 4 to 7pm here at Rideau District High School. South Crosby and the Elgin Healthybodies Gym are the drop off points for any skates you may have to donate and remember December 6th if you need a pair of skates for this winter season! There is no money involved in this exchange, the rink committee want to see everyone out skating this season, that is their goal! Monday-Wednesday: Operation Christmas Child is an opportunity for you or your class to give a gift to a child in need. Fill a shoebox with hygiene items, school supplies, toys and a personal note to the child who will receive your gift this Christmas. See the display in the cafeteria for further information. Please drop off your shoebox gift to the guidance office by this Friday, November 15.
