Daily Bible Reading - 1 Chronicles 22 & 1 Peter 3 - 1 Chronicles 22 details Davids preparation for the Temple construction by his son Samuel. This chapter says that David gathered together the many foreign craftsmen to prepare some stonework, wood beams, nails and iron needed for the construction, etc. David also gathered the funds needed to pay for the construction. 1 Peter 3 speaks of Godly living - - Wives are asked to be submissive to their husbands, in such a way that their lost husbands may be saved... - husbands are required to treat their wives as equals, in ways that were really unheard of in Peters day... Women were not educated, were considered a lesser class or level compared to men, and were not respected. I think of the women in this time when I hear how the Muslims treat women - no respect at all. - In 3:15, Peter says to always be ready to give your testimony of Christ, whenever you are asked to share Him with someone... - Peter says it would be better for us if were punished by the world for living a Godly life, than to be punished by God for living an unGodly life. APPLY - think about the last statement... Better to be punished by the world than by God... Isnt that the truth? Anything that pulls us away from God is considered living an UnGodly life.
