Daily Devotion For Thursday July 17, 2014 HEAR THE WORD ABOUT THE CHILD LUKE 2:17-18 WRITTEN BY PAUL GAUCHE I’ve always been struck by all of the sensory stuff that’s going on here ... All the seeing and hearing and telling that goes on in this story. The shepherds hear the word about the child, and that sets into motion a series of seeing, hearing and telling. The shepherds hear good news of the birth of the baby Jesus and then they go find Mary, Joseph and Jesus, as it had been told them. And when they see the Christ child, they share the story about how this message came to them, causing amazement in all who hear. Isn’t that just how it goes with really good news? When we receive good news, doesn’t it just make sense to tell someone else? Maybe that’s the Christmas gift you can give to someone today. Share the good news of Christ with them!
