Daily Devotion for Saturday July 12: Entering the Cloud Read Matthew 17:5-7 and Luke 9:33-36. Do you suppose Peter was putting Jesus on par with Moses and Elijah when he asked about erecting three shelters? He didn’t understand. But we know that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets; Jesus is God’s own Son! Jesus is Immanuel, God with us, and we are to listen to him. Remembering that Peter, James, and John were steeped in the Hebrew Scriptures, consider why the cloud frightened them. Read Exodus 34:4-6,29-35 and Psalm 99:7. Ponder how this looks ahead as you read Acts 1:6-11 and 2 Corinthians 3:7-11. Ask Jesus to transform you as you spend time in his glorious presence.
