Daily Devotional: January 26, 2015 SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 55:12-13 12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” OBSERVATION: - these verses talks about the joy and blessing of restoration. - For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace: When Gods people turn to Him, listen to Him, and His Word does His work in them, joy and peace are always the result. - The joy is so great, that even the mountains and the hills, and the trees of the field join in. - Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree: Where before there was barrenness and reminders of the curse (the thorn), now there will be beautiful and useful trees. - The picture is clear; in His glorious work of restoration, God takes away the barren and the cursed, and brings forth beauty and fruit. - It shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off: When the LORD restores, all the work is done for His name, and for His glory. - When the LORD restores, the work is secure; it is an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. - Oh what a beautiful promise indeed! - after the trials and failures, when we turn to Jesus, listen to Jesus, seek more of Him, dig deeper into our relationship with God, theres a beautiful promise of restoration ahead of you.
