Daily Prayer Break: Saturday, January 18, 2014 We invite you to take 3 minutes and spend some time in prayer with us. Pause, Read, Reflect… Pause: Take a moment to center yourself. Focus on your breath. As you breathe, call to mind the challenges of the past week -- great or small. Think of the ones you overcame. Recognize God’s hand in the everyday. Read: Our Gospel today: MK 2:13-17 Jesus went out along the sea. All the crowd came to him and he taught them. As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs post. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed Jesus. While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him. Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that Jesus was eating with sinners and tax collectors and said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus heard this and said to them, “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.” Reflect: 1) What is God speaking to me about through this Gospel? 2) Do I get to wrapped up in my own righteousness that I fail to remember that Christ came for everyone and is in everyone? Final prayer: Lord my God, your gift of grace is given to everyone. Help me recognize the grace in all people, not placing myself above anyone, but following you, walking with everyone on our path of faith together as one. -Amen. Even online, we are a community -- a family -- united through prayer. Thank you for taking this time to pray with us. Feel free to share your prayer requests, thoughts, insights and joyful thanksgivings with us by commenting on this post. Together, we support each other on our journey.
