Daily Reflection Eco Divino, Nov 8, 2013 Todays reflection is taken from the Letter to the Romans, I preach the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God. One of the great features that have the Romans is its missionary deep sense of mission. We have a mission in the Church is to proclaim the Gospel and often think that proclaiming the Gospel is just preaching to the choir of the church and we forget that the Church is in the street and we find ourselves today with situations the United States, in Europe for example that our churches became museums, became tourist attractions, but not in places where the community gathers to celebrate their faith, because we lost it, we lost that sense of going out and evangelizing , we pretend that people come to church to simply record a mass, giving $10, $15 and youre a good Catholic and that is not so, and therefore, the problems we have here and in Europe, lies primarily in the lack of pastoral work of the Church itself and until we do not assume that responsibility, will always think that in New York there are no people and the only people that matter are the people who come to Mass and sustains the church, when in fact it not. Actually, the Church is called to proclaim the Gospel, here and now and all the people and I will cite examples of very simple things, you find here such that many times, we have a great concern for the poor, ok, what programs in our parishes to help the poor?, collect food and clothing give, yes, but other things have, in terms of education?, and what we do to educate the poor, likely to speak Spanish and do not speak English?, well, if not speak English can not enter here in this school because at this school all the people speak English, then, there is as much clarity on that, well, catechism?, who will teach catechism to children who do not speak English?, no, because there is no one to speak that, you young?, the number of people working here in New York , which has to go to a class English and learning English listening to the radio or watching Tv, does not have any pastoral work why?, for ourselves, we believe that good because we do not go to work and right now we have another issue, which we think is the minority, the vast Asian minority living among us do not have either evangelization programs and then, one wonders, when we are going to evangelize?, when we go out? , youth train left the church in a while , if you come to Mass here or go to church anywhere else in New York and get to see who the young people between 17 and 35 who come to church and say to the church, would understand perfectly what I m saying. What can we do?, Return to the gospel, what the Gospel teaches us?, Teaches us the truth that Jesus Christ is the Way, Truth and Life, what we asked Paul?, Go out and evangelize!, And why they come here to the office for me as Cures attend, thats over, I have to go with my people on the street to look for the most in need, who are those souls who are desperately seeking God and us for fools or multiple reasons we have not gone out to meet these people. May almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit descend over you, your family and jobs. May the Lord protect and be with you forever. Amen
