Daily excerpt from my book, Why We Are Born The ego thinks others are against it. When the ego thinks it is weaker than its perceived opponent, it feels fear. When the ego thinks it might be as strong as its opponent, it feels anger and starts a fight. The ego doesn’t understand that true power comes from the Source, which embraces us all. The ego also thinks events and situations can be against it, so it makes hasty and superficial judgments and gets afraid or upset. The ego does not understand all things happen for us. Once you disidentify with the ego, the fear of the new is replaced with excitement, joy, and even the sense of magic. The fear of being judged by others becomes irrelevant because you feel your unconditional love for them. Even the fear caused by physical danger changes. Your body might still get triggered and respond with symptoms such as tension, but when you truly realize you are a soul, which doesn’t die at physical death, you are not afraid in the same way.
