Dakota Update I am kind of in a bit of a hurry this morning as I have a few things to do but I thought I would pass along some amazing progress. I will start with the last walk of the day we usually do this between 8 – 9 pm Dakota usually does not enjoy this walk as much most likely because its dark he is partly blind in one eye but mostly he seemed to want to cut the last walk short. Not last night his head held high his tail wagging I think having is foster brother in tandem and gaining trust in me has helped this a lot. After the last walk I started to watch NCIS that had spooled up on my PVR relaxing on the couch with my arm dangling over the end I get a poodle poke on my hand I look over and its Dakota he is asking me to pet him…OMG this is a huge deal most times I have to sit on the floor and coax him over for pets. After a few ear and top scratches he spun around for a but rub you know top of the tail area I have never truly patted him anywhere but his ears before because Ringo does not like his tail touched he move back and forth between Paulene and I for loving Somewhere in the time I was watching my shows he had enough scratches or Trixie pushed him out of the way once too often he moved off to his crate for bed door open curled up in the back poor guy we had to wake him to give him his eye drops at 10 he stayed peacefully and happy in his crate during the morning ruckus once it was just me and the dogs remaining I put on a pot of coffee and cut up some cheese (this is a morning ritual for my 18 year old Chi she wines and begs for her morning cheese) I started to talk to Dakota (talk sing there are no witnesses that will talk) he came out of his crate refused the cheese but wanted to go straight out the back door to pee. We have since completed out morning hike (will post a short video later) and Trixie is trying to get him to play right now it’s not working but she is trying. This little guy is amazing no accidents a bit shy but coming around big time
