Dale Herbert Condon, 79, of Broad Brook and Venice FL and formerly of Windsor Locks, loving husband of Joanne Hoyt Condon passed away on Saturday October 5, 2013. Born on January 9, 1934 in Fort Fairfield, ME, he was the son of the late Herbert and Martha Condon. He graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1953 and married the love of his life 58 years ago just before enlisting in the Army. Dale moved to CT in 1957 and worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for 35 years. Upon retirement, he fulfilled his dream to retire to Venice FL which he enjoyed all of his 22 retirement years. In addition to his wife, Joanne, Dale is survived by his two daughters and two son-in-laws, Cindy and Mark Stoecker of Broad Brook and Cathy and Maurice Simoneau of Windsor Locks; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Carla married to Ray Bushnell and have two great grandchildren Dorian and Colwyn; Erin a math teacher at Norwich Tech; Brad, engaged to Staci Hastings and builds high performance engines; Kerry, social worker and mother of great granddaughter Aubrie Grace; and Patrick, “Can do anything and does everything”. Dale was so proud of his family and grandchildren, they were the stars in his eyes! Dale is also survived by a sister and brother in law, Norma and Vance MacDonald of Southington, and in Maine a sister, Anna Pike; brother, Gary Condon and sister in law Eva Condon. He also survived by the Hoyt Clan of 7 brother in laws; Gerald, Dick, Bob, Floyd, Don, Ron, Hollan; and Mike and Don and 7 sister in laws; Ethelyn, Patty, Dianne, Betty, Jeanette, Sharon and Kathy; 32 nieces and nephews; especially Karen Sue and Johnny in FL. Dale will be missed by his many friends in Florida and his cat, Callie. He was also predeceased by a brother, Winston Condon; sister in law Claire Hoyt; and two infant children. Our family would like to thank all that helped Dale during his illness especially Mt. Sinai Rehab. Center. Relatives and friends may call at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor on Monday (Oct 7) from 4-6 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
