Damn I sure wish the Royals could have pulled it off, and they almost did. Of the millions watching with no allegiance to either team, Im sure it will go down as one of the most exciting World Series in recent memory. And damn, when Gordon got that triple at the bottom of the ninth, with two outs....I sure thought they finally figured out Bumgarner and would...in the Royals dramatic fashion, at least push it into extra innings....but alas, thats the way the ball bounces so to speak. Never the less, nothing to hang their heads about, they played a great team, a great series, overcoming obstacle after obstacle to get there and damn near pull it off. The truth is, the last inning or so, they were just pushing too hard, chasing pitches when Bumgarner would have walked at least one or two of them, and you have to tip your hat to the Giants defense, that glove flipping double play....made the game for them more so than Bumgarner in my opinion. But theyre young and talented and relentless, hopefully they can come out and take off where they left off next spring and get in there again....similar to the 1980 through 1985 Royals...theyll get one yet. In the meantime.....
