Damn it Sid, I hate these things... well, here you go: There are so many awesome local bands out there, Travel Amygdala, Heavy Necker, Carved in Stone, Outer Haven, The Rupert Selection, The Versa Contrast, Theatres, Apollos Resurrection, My Missing Half, Untombed, Marianas, Red Equals Meltdown, Moments, Parasitic Expirtation, Demoralizer, Boar Corpse, Forced Asphyxiation, Shroud, Pathogenic, Widow Sunday, Western Massacre, Vengeful Wake, Its a Wonderful Knife, Before the Judge, Beneath the Burial, Beneath the Machine, Before I Had Wings, Honor Bound, The Failure Initiative, Jack Romanov, HarborLights.. thats only a few.. there is literally over 100 awesome bands from Massachusetts alone, not to mention all the amazing bands in New England and the surrounding areas such as New York, New Jersey, and all over the US and bordering countries as well as bands on foreign lands in Europe, Russia, Asia, South America, Canada.. all unsigned.. all working their asses off to bring music to the world. Carnivora is my favorite local band. Thats not to say that I dont appreciate and enjoy anyone elses music, they just play the style that I enjoy the most. I nominate everyone I know. Not to name a local band and label them as your favorite, but to go out to a local or underground show and support these musicians who pour their heart and soul into what they create. It blows my mind the amount of competition in todays scene. Bad mouthing genres, bands and people for the music they listen to. When I was younger, we didnt go to a show to support only our friends band, we went to support the scene. Im almost ready for all the negative comments.. Ill check back later for the criticism, for now, Im going to try and enjoy the rest of my vacation.
