Danbury Goal Crusher Alert: Meet Jill, a true inspiration to everyone for her hard work and determination. Jill recently won first place in her very first bikini competition in not only her height class but overall as well. I have always been into sports and have always had a strong curiosity about fitness competitions and admired the female competitors. I could never bring myself to even consider the idea of entering though. All I could think of was how I could barely speak in front of the class all throughout school and as for fitness? Where would I even start? About four months ago I shared my idea with my mom and she encouraged me to just go for it. I looked up coaches and found Stephanie from Catalyst in Southbury. She has previous experience competing and she seemed like she really knew the whole ins and outs of the competition world. As training started, whether I even placed in this competition or not wasnt even a thought, I just wanted to get into the best shape I could and feel the satisfaction of achieving my goal. The training process takes a huge toll, not just on your body, but your mind also. There was definitely tears from frustration, negativity from others, and serious health issues I had to fight through up until the day I competed. I was lucky enough to have an incredible support system and without them I dont know if I would have ever competed. Stepping on stage, all my fears went out the window, and I couldnt help half laughing as I listened to everyones voices cheering me on. Hearing my name called announcing I won, not just for my height class but for the entire overall bikini division, had me completely stunned. The thought I had exceeded my goal and expectations is still something so surreal. The past 4 months have been an incredible experience and Ive found a whole new passion for health and fitness on top of it all. Are you a #danburygoalcrusher? WE WANT YOU!
