Dancing with the Devil Some few days ago, I spoke of some people not being committed to the Presidency. Again, I am unrealistically seeing same mountainously creeping into the Unity Party. It is anticipated that people are to be committed to political parties, and not individuals. Individuals will come and go, but a well- defined political structure will stand the test of time. My attention has been drawn to activities surrounding the candidacy of a friend and brother, Mr. Ali Sylla; the choice of the Unity Party for the upcoming Monsterrado Senatorial elections. I am starting to think that this potential and capable individual will be dressed like a Gio devil by his party for fun making, while again a huge portion of his party support will be given to an “INDEPENDENT” senatorial candidate. I know for show this will happen! For me, this is what I call complete hypocrisy, share wickedness, sycophancy, back biting and a high level of lack of commitment. The political landscape in Liberia is no more base on commitment and conviction, but rather unjust petty cash generation. Interestingly, it will interest you to note that young comrades and individuals that are considered SOLID members of the Unity Party are the people pledging their supports to this “INDEPENDENT” senatorial candidate. So who is Mr. Ali Sylla? Poor child, I feel your pains and sorrows. Conspicuously and without remorse of conscience, some have with speed and accuracy buried their long kept ambitions just to support this “INDEPENDENT” senatorial candidate. Why? Only God will provide such answer at the appropriate time. Lastly, my advice to Mr. Sylla is to have a second thought. It will be better for history to judge you truly that you fought a realistic and independent struggle, than committing yourself to a fake struggle that even when your unborn kids shall have understood the writings in the books and on the wall will one day say “ Daddy should have known better”.
