Dangerous to read too much into this one because Notts County - TopicsExpress

Dangerous to read too much into this one because Notts County seemed to be hopeless. I suppose we are always going to look good against a lower division side that concede a goal inside two minutes and two inside ten minutes. In fact, it was disappointing that we didnt score a hatful. It was a game where Maghoma & Madine stood out from an attacking perspective, Loovens & Lees looked solid at the back while Mattock caught the eye with his runs and excellent crosses. What did we learn? Not a lot to be honest that we didnt already know but it confirmed that Mattock has got the LB slot nailed, Madine & Maghoma can punish L1 opposition and Nuhui will always need six good chances to score one goal. I have already seen ratings for Nuhui from last night ranging from 5 to 8 so it depends so much on whether you rate effort or quality. I cannot help but think that if May had been playing instead of Nuhui, he would have got a hat trick or more. Kirkland - 6 Palmer - 6 Loovens - 6 Lees - 6 Mattock - 8 Maguire - 7 Semedo - 6 Coke - 6 Maghoma - 8 Nuhui - 6 Madine - 7 My main worry is that SG will see this win as a vindication for playing 442 and play that way against Derby. For me he should stick with the 433 he used at Brighton. This means picking one of Nuhui, Madine & May. May will be the long term choice but will probably have to wait until next Tuesday to get a start so a choice between Nuhuis work rate & Madines goal scoring. Anyway, job done. Bring on Man Utd!
