Daniel Powell, one of the Democratic candidates in this year’s election for Henry County Circuit Court Clerk, held a Meet the Candidate dinner and fundraising event last night at the Greystone ballroom in Paris. The event was well-attended by community members including Henry County Democratic Party chairman Wes Bradley, who delivered an invocation before dinner. Bradley did not comment on Powell’s candidacy so as to remain impartial, but did say that there are some fantastic candidates on the Democratic ticket for the Circuit Court Clerk office this year. Powell is a Cottage Grove native and currently a correctional officer with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. He will contend with Jason Raines, Lisa Wade, and incumbent Circuit Court Clerk Mike Wilson in the May 6th county primary election.
