Danny here: Star has been kept over night to monitor whats going on. So two nights ago the Staff did a Thoracentesis- to drain her left lung of inflamed fluid post surgery. They did great and sent us home. ..even though we probably SHOULDNT have gone home. Star still had the matter of the sack around the heart filled with blood (fluid). To drain that, theres two approaches (unless I got this wrong) : HOPEFULLY a straw can be inserted and maneuverd into place (doesnt sound so. ..possible) OR they crack everything open and go at it. The THIRD way is to do nothing. Well, not NOTHING, but over the next few months to allow the body to absorb that blood while being monitored weekly. That SOUNDS best, but it will ADD TO HER PAIN. A LOT. Right now Star is hypersensitive experiencing her pain. On a pain scale of 1-10, she lives at around an 8. With this freshly cracked open chest and all of the associated baggage THAT brings, her pain level goes from terrible to torture (and I DONT mean water boarding). Please keep our Star on your prayer list. We came close to losing her last night when her potassium level went WAY low the Nurses were alerted to her emergency. They made her down a potassium slurpee and told her to drink it (imagine a Soy Sauce smoothie WITHOUT the yumminess). When Star asked why, they said If you dont, youll die. She drank it. Life is a choice. It is very easy to die, if thats what one wants. When we are weak, we can easily slide away. But we want to live and THIVE. This is why we need you, to continue to STAND in prayer with us. May God continue to Bless you.
