Das HESFES post: HESFES 2014 may well have become my favourite year ever, or at least one of them (maybe second to 2005). Ive had a very busy (tiring) week, doing that ol photography thang, not just for bands, but for general HESFES stuff too (almost filling three cards with roughly 50-55GB of 1,500ish photos/videos); also running the music workshops with Patrick (and help from Alex, Oscar and others), which turned out to be (IMHO) the best end of week all-stars show EVER - thanks to the amazing kids taking part this year, who learned fast and soon made a very tight 14(ish)-piece band (alongside a great choir section too). I spoke on a panel (with some other ex-home-edders) about autonomous home-ed, and how were not all drug-addled failures, which drew a surprisingly big crowd of new families! Obviously, I did some chilling too, because the weather was perfect for camping/having a rest in the countryside, and even better for some epic stargazing. It was nice seeing people Ive known for a very long time (George Barnett, Henry, Rebecca, Alex), jamming with (and listening to) some awesome musician friends (Freya Ridings, Patrick Channon Music, Hettie Bunker, Casey, Captain Fabulous and the Rainbow Brigade, George Jackson-Horn), and meeting some awesome new people too. Finally, thanks to the crew/organisers (John, Sarah, Andy, etc), because theyre all just brilliant. Cheers, yall! - Captain Cowbell ;) [If youre not tagged here or below, then I dont have you added, or Im still so tired from the last nights 6am super-gig that Ive just forgotten! - That or Facebooks bugging...]
