Davao Adventure - Recap Mt Apo Civet Coffee This civet coffee was the brainchild of Mr Philip Dizon, who couldnt stand the cruelty by the farmers towards the musang (civet cats). Musang was the pests towards the farmers especially the banana farmers. They trapped and bashed the animals to death. Mr Philip Dizon approached the farmers to give him the animals they had captured to him and he provided a clean, hygenic, condusive environment for them to start producing the civet coffee. I, personally am against civet coffee after visiting the farm in Indonesia some years ago. The living conditions were poorly maintained and the welfare of the animals were neglected. But I am for this civet coffee from Mt Apo by Mr Dizon, cos there is a vet looking after the animals, and some workers there, who are graduate in animal husbandry. The civet cats enclosures are clean, had branches to climb and places to hide and rest. The civet cats are healthy, happy and started to breed in this establishment.
