Day 1 San Jose Panula Guatemala The discussion over coffee this morning as we went through all the things we wanted to accomplish on this trip led to a reminder by our host, Oscar, that things here dont run the way they do in the States. Thats a fact! The only certainty is uncertainty. Our meeting with the national doctors working the clinic is that the dates will be Tuesday and Wednesday not Wednesday and Thursday as we thought. We have had to scramble to get all the medicines in bags and our toys and activities organized for the children. Here are two important facts to remember on the mission field. The first is no matter what you are asked to change, the right answer is it is no problem. The second principle is missions is messy. If you like things neat, traffic flowing smoothly and everything right on schedule then you may not enjoy Guatemala! On the other, if you want to work with generous and loving people who are so grateful for your help then this is the spot for you .
