Day 1 of Coolangatta Gold Quest ;) I made contact with Gavin Hill from Northcliffe Surf Club thru the week (such an awesome guy!) who invited me down to watch this mornings training session & then show me a bit about the gear & see if they had any to suit me. I feel like a fish out of water & have absolutely no idea about anything in this sport. I didnt even realise the 1st bloke I was watching & speaking to was 6 time CG champion Shannon Eckstein. Also got chatting to Courtney Hancock about her apparent switch to TRI (which she dismissed, bummer cause I was thinking of trading my TT for the new kit). Everyone I spoke to there was very helpful & their reactions varied from nearly choking on their coffee to a strained I think you could do the Cooly (which is fair enough considering my current surf guru status). I could faintly see Coolangatta from the club this morning (only when some dude pointed it out) & took my 1st step on the journey there ;)
