Day 1 of #SUMMERSTRONG Today we start with the very first jump in the ashtanga series and surya namaskara A. This is a seemingly simple jump from the third position of surya namaskara to the fourth position. For this challenge: Repeat this jump several times, anywhere from 6-15x focusing on these keys aspects: -Place your hands in front of your feet. -Engage your chest and spread your shoulder blades. Begin with a slight bend at the elbow and your hands on the ground. Steadily lean weight from Your feet into your hands without letting the shoulders move forward of your hands. (Instead of forward let the weight move directly down into your hands) When you feel a minimum of 50 percent of your body weight in your hands, do a light jump that sends your legs backwards as your head and chest remain forward. Land as lightly as you can with an open chest and the shoulder blades back and down. NOTE: If you are a person you has a hard time landing bent arms, intentionally try to land on your chest with your head up until you can do this movement staying suspending in your landing. @yogainspiration @stonefoxswim @rawelementsusa #SUMMERSTRONG
