Day 13 of the Wine Spectator Top 100 Scavenger Hunt Count Down. Bill Stimson, the head hunter, is in Cabo San Lucas on vacation and I am providing an update on his behalf. We we have now acquired 83 of the top 100 Wines of the list Wine Spectator with just 17 to go. Craig Schwartz just told me that he got two bottles of Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Reserve which is #9 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 list. This wine has been sold out was one of the hardest wines but Craig was able to find one bottle on one state and another one somewhere else., Craig, you get the Amazing Bounty Hunter Award of the day. All these wines will be offered as part of the Live Auction on Saturday, May 17th as part of the 2014 MidAtlantic Wine and Food Festivals Visa Signature Gala Winemakers Dinner at the Hotel DuPont - Gold Ballroom. I will on a regular basis over the next 87 days list one or more of the wines we have acquired and list one of the wines we are still looking for in the hope that one of my FB friends can help us get it! We are still looking for 2 bottles of 2010 Reynvaan Syrah Walla Walla Valley Stonessence which is #11 on the Top 100 Wines List. In addition, to Bill and Crag , there are is a great group of scavengers who are helping the Wine Guild get these wines before May 1st. They are Chris and Carol Jording, Kurt Heyman, Matthew Sullivan, JB Braun, Audrey Kirchner,Beth Wells, Alice Ross, Kip Poole, Chuck Lewis, Michele Mitchell,Leah Suzanne , Darren Wright, Meg Hudson, Brendan Cooke, Lisa M. Detwiler, Paul Schulze, Barry Roseman, Vance Kershner,Caroline Athias, David Hill and Jud Louis. If you want to join this group, let me know as need all the help to track the remaining 17 wines. It is a fun group that loves doing a serious scavenger hunt for great wines at the best value!
