Day 16: Pre-verbal/non-verbal does not mean that the person cannot hear and internalize everything you are saying. Even more significant is that when the pre-verbal/non-verbal person hears you say something concerning or upsetting they cannot talk to someone about it allowing them to process the words. Please, please, please keep this in mind at all times. Only speak words that you would be comfortable having repeated to others by the person you are speaking to or near. This includes information about others, or yourselves, that is not appropriate for that person to hear .
