Day 17, since day 16 was so late. I am thankful for my work friends and family. Now you have to realize I have been there for 34 years so this may take awhile. I started out in 1973 at Waddell hospital and moved to Twin County Hospital with patients the day they opened. My best friends there were Mary Ruth Quesenberry, Ruth Brown, Dorothy Elliott, Vernelle Simpson, Keith Wells and Betty Jo and Phyllis (I cant remember their last names, how awful.) I had a lot of other friends there too and two of the most awesome supervisors who taught me so much about being a good nurse and a good charge nurse. They were Pauline Roseberry and Ruth Osbourne. I looked up to them and admired them so much. I was a very young nurse who needed their guidance. But all the first people I mentioned...we had a blast at work. We took good care of our patients but we had such a good time together. Ill never forget them. We moved away for four years and came back in 1979 and in 1980 I went to work at Waddell Nursing Home. I started out with Eunice Harvey and Barbara Kirby. We worked hard but we worked together and had a good time. Eunice was a hoot to work with! Over the years I have worked with wonderful people Lula Akers, Ann Myers, Delilah Thompson, Margaret Mason, Kathy Whitener, Patty Russell, Wanda Osborne, Virginia Jones, Patsy Bond, Dawn Ward, Pat Leonard who was a great CNA and is now a wonderful nurse, Anna Bedwell and Nancy Anderson who made the transition to the new building fun and interesting. Barbara Melton who kept things lively with her singing and was a fantastic aide. Nancy Chappell, Sheia Mayberry, Robb Burris, Tony Flippin, Terry Davis, Lisa Dixon Sumner who is now an awesome RN, my dear sister in law and friend Margaret Willis who was also a great CNA and is now a great LPN. There have been so many friends over the years I cant name them all. And that brings me to more recently. My friends and cohorts who not only share an office and the MDS care plan jobs but have willing ears when I need to vent and who make work a little easier by being who they are. Lou Ann Lineberry, my bestie an friend from almost the beginning, Diane and Ame, Thalia, my newest friend, Debby who has been there for me many times, Vicky and Carol and Delilah Barbara and Cindy and Im sure I missed someone but I am so thankful for all your friendships. And again those who are gone but are still good friends. Regina McCormick, Vicky Haga, Dee Cochran, Jennifer Flippen, oh and my two kitchen buddies Joyce and Jennie. And again, the two most wonderful bosses /supervisors in the world Sandy Wagoner and Doris Morris who were so good to me and all of us over the years and became also good friends. I know I have forgotten someone important, but for all of you who have been my friends for the past thirty odd years...thank you from the bottom of my heart for your friendships.
