Day 2 in the hospital. Ellis has his pain under control until the doctors probe his swollen right hand. It is still very red and tender. The nurses are saying he is a hard stick when trying to get his IV started. He has two going with factor and antibiotics. There is some talk about a PICC line tomorrow. And a few docs have indicated they want to keep him for a week. Thats how long it takes some of the blood cultures to mature. So they still dont know or havent said what the problem is. We are just trusting in their skills and all the diagnostic tests to reveal something soon. Ellis is quite the patient. He keeps the staff laughing while he educates them about his disorders. They love him. His spirits are good now that the pain is managed. I came here by 4pm and will head home around 9pm. It had been snow flurrying a bit and the temp has dropped to the 30s. I plan to work tomorrow and come back here on Thursday. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. We know the good Lord is watching over us both and we are keeping our eyes in Him.
