Day 2 of the Gratitude Challenge: (No one is in any order....just how my mind is processing thought as I reflect.) 1. Ive dated some awful guys. Jerks. Players. Cheaters. Liars. Manipulators. Self-absorbed ass-clowns. Some of them were every one of those negatives. (Ive also dated a few for whom Ive kept as good friends because circumstances and timing werent there. Theyre good people.) Im grateful for Mike Mason. Michael is the real deal. There are no pretenses, games, drama, or lies. He doesnt use people like hes been used or Ive been used. He isnt lazy. Im grateful that I met a person who is like-minded and like-hearted like me. Not only am I so very grateful for the things he is, Im also grateful for all of the things hes not. Hes the best man of my life. I love him. 2. Im grateful for two sons, Ryan McKittrick and Matthew McKittrick. They enrich my lives in ways that I never thought possible... Theyre my heart and the oxygen I breathe. I cannot possibly imagine life without them. Losing them to the grave is my greatest fear. I want much for them.... education, success and the love of good women who they truly love in return. Im incredibly proud of their wittiness, smarts and how articulate they both are.... I have sharp kids and I admire them a lot. I have a lot of hope in them and they show me a lot of promise in the men theyre growing to be. 3. Im grateful for a pseudo-son, Noah. Noah is a sweet kid... giggly.... full of imagination, affection and love. Every morning and before bed, hes quick to give a hug followed by I love yous... Hes easy to please because he loves turkey sandwiches... swimming and playing video games. Noah is a very good little artist ... I enjoy watching him draw and listen to his imagination while doing it. I look forward to watching him grow up and getting to be apart of it. What an honor.
