Day 28- There are no shortcuts to maturity Philippians 1:6 Living Bible (TLB) 6 And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns. Paul knows that if God has begun a work of grace in the Philippians, he will complete it, for he has the power “to bring everything under his control”. He is confident that God will bring the Philippians safely into the kingdom of salvation on the day of Christ Jesus. This work, which is identified with our salvation, will reach its completion when Christ returns. It is a work that God alone accomplishes and it involves an ongoing transformation of our lives. We are being transformed by the renewing of our minds in Christ. The “good work” of salvation includes God’s gift to us which gives us the ability to do good works. The presence of these good works is evidence that God has begun and will complete the work of salvation in us. We will be saved in the future because we live holy lives in the present, and the holiness that characterizes our lives is God’s work from beginning to end. God is still working on you and when God gets through with you, you will come forth as pure gold. Therefore, continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ as you take on the mind of Christ. You can not hurry God, he is working on you right now. Have a blessed day Pastor Owens
