Day 28 of 31 Days of Horror movie a day review JOHN CARPENTER’S THE THING. A group of reasearches are not enjoying their time in a isolated Antartic facility, but then they find something in the ice. A shapechifter that assumes their forms! They cannot tell who is human and who is alien. Paranoia spreads like a wildfire. Hands down, the best horror movie of all time. This one has it all. A great cast, creepy settings, and a horrifying monster. The effects in this movie are amazing. Good practical work that still holds up today. I think the great thing about this film is that it’s almost two movies at once. A paranoid thriller and a monster movie running concurrently.
