Day 3~ I burst into tears as I watched the movie X-Men: First Class. When the character Raven Darkholme played by Jennifer Lawrence said: : “Thats not what you said when you first saw me. But I guess pets are always cuter when they are little, right?” When I first brought Kato home, he was slightly smaller than he is now, but he was not little. Kato weighted 87 lbs at 8 months old. I had great expectation for him, like passing his CGC test, becoming a service dog, helping to defeat Breed Specific Legislation, and most of all, be our best friend till the end his time. I spent a whole day talking to several rescuers about possibly taking Kato, but none could do that for him. A lot of rescuers agreed its most likely Kato flipped out because he thought the puppy was a rodent instead of a dog. Its very common for a dog like him to have a high level of prey drive. Since I restrained him from getting close to the puppy, he could possibly feel the need to bite anything that is near him, in this case, it was me. It does not matter how much I desire to make sense out of it. It still makes my heart aches for Kato. Kato has been a paternal figure for our ten previous Pit Bull foster puppies.
