Day 3 of the Artist Challenge 3 paintings for 5 days, although I - TopicsExpress

Day 3 of the Artist Challenge 3 paintings for 5 days, although I cant seem to stop at three. Thanks to Andy Thurber for the nomination. Often in my work I paint those I know and these subjects become something universal instead of the actual person I know. Day 3 has some of these examples. 1st up, The Blue Guitar from a sitting with Sally Ann Nielsen who plays a mean guitar. 2nd, Flapper Girl is inspired by Crystal Villegas and if you met her, you know why. 3rd is Untitled and inspired by the closest thing I have to a blood relation brother, Curt Struwe. 4th is The Bravest Woman, is an updated piece of Pam Sheggeby from an earlier piece of The Bravest Girl. This last painting has an bonus, the painting has an uncanny resemblance to best selling author Melissa Studdard (whom I never met before). After seeing the painting, Melissa and her publisher thought it perfect for her new book I Ate the Cosmos for Breakfast. I agree and couldnt be more honored. Im nominating Marlene Koenig for the artist challenge. Love what she does and you will too. You can see more of my work on Instagram under mockingbirdstudio.
