Day 4 in Kenya: Today was a big day! It was our first full day of the Church Planting Training that we had planned. Scott Kirk, Fred Stoughton, Bill Keeline and myself all helped teach different lessons from the DCPI (Dynamic Church Planting International) curriculum. We also had two Kenyan leaders that had been through the training before, help us with the training. We were expecting somewhere around 30 participants and our final number of participants enrolled was 96! While we were training inside Amboseli Chapel the rest of our group helped plant 25 Moringa trees on the church property. Moringa Oleifera trees are the most nutritious tree on the planet with 7 times the Vitamin C of oranges, 4 times the Vitamin A of carrots, 4 times the Calcium of milk, 3 times the Potassium of Bananas, 2 times the Protein of yogurt along with 46 Antioxidents, 36 Anti-Inflamatories and 18 Amino Acids. I also left Pastor Daniel with a case of Zijas XM Plus and SuperMix. These are nutritional supplements that are packed full of moringa that they can simply mix with water to get all of the nutrients that they are not currently getting in their diet. We also plan on teaching them how to harvest their own trees. The trees that we planted were only 1 month old but we found a full grown Moringa tree on the property that was planted 2 years ago. You can see it in the photo with Daniel holding the XM Plus and SuperMix. The kids also enjoyed playing soccer with the children in the community. Barry shared some music with the worship leaders and gave them his guitar. We also painted rocks to go arround the base of the 25 Moringa trees. We painted the names of the donors and supporters of this trip on the rocks. It was so cool for me to look out of the windows of the church while we were doing the training and see an entire team of people getting their hands dirty and serving this wonderful community! All-in-all it was an outstanding day that we will all remember forever!
