Day 4 of Gratitude: My Health #1: Physical-Well I have made - TopicsExpress

Day 4 of Gratitude: My Health #1: Physical-Well I have made it to almost 50 with all of my God given parts. During those years I have accumulated quite a few scars (playing sports, being hit by a drunk driver, having 2 children and more than a few surgeries), quite a few broken bones and I have picked up several metal plates thanks to back and neck surgeries. But all of my parts still work(although hard to get cranked up some mornings) and they allow me to get on the floor and play with my granddaughter, ride my motorcycle and take my dog for a walk. As my husband Ron Smith says: If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of it. But I am more than grateful it has gotten me this far and am hoping it continues to work for quite a few more years. #2: Mental-Overall I think this part seems to be faring a bit better than my body. Although, I am finding myself walking into a room and then asking myself what did I just come in here for on a much more often basis. But for the most part, my mind seems to be pretty intact despite my attempts at killing brain cells off in my younger years. My brain has allowed me to get thru graduate school and to do well in my chosen profession. It helped me tolerate raising two teenagers and even occasionally outsmarting them. And I am very grateful and looking forward to the years ahead of spoiling grandchildren. #3: Emotional-Actually I think this part has fared better than my physical and mental status. My husband might disagree as he is getting to live thru my crazy years otherwise known as menopause. I am grateful that over all of these years, I have learned patience and tolerance. I suppose spending years raising children and dealing with numerous employees has helped with this. While I have been thru a good deal of things in my life (not as much as some but more than others), I am grateful that I have had the emotional fortitude to get to the other side. With Gods grace, compassion and guidance I am so very grateful for the past 50 years and am looking forward to the next.
