Day#46 Michael Day Update... This has been a crazy busy day...no down time at all...Mike is just now having the first nap of the day. So are you ready for our really, really big news.....We got our discharge date today..We are going home on Monday! The second half of that good news is that Mike is headed home to Silverton. He no longer qualifies for inpatient rehab! That is both a good thing and a bad thing. He worked so hard, and progressed so well, he worked himself right out of the opportunity for daily therapy. On the up side, he gets to be home. Guess thats a no brainer. We have started our final list of No mores. No more wheelchairs, no more walkers, no more trach, no more PICC line, no more help with showers (okay, he does seem to be a little sad about that one), no more sedatives. We will be adding to this list everyday for the next 4 days, then we are outta here. We will be leaving on Day #50! I am soooo excited, I feel a little like the ol mare headed for the barn ( dont even think about commenting on that part....seriously...I will be free, out in the world, and capable of hunting you down). Steve is headed up on Sunday, we will pack up the motor home, wave goodbye to Mike and Pennie Parkinson Day as they turn toward Silverton, and head on to Crescent City. Yippee!
