Day 6: Today I am thankful for books. My life has been filled with books. The first one I remember being read to me was the Childrens Bible Story book at my Holladay grandparents house. When I started school I fell in love with Dick and Jane books. About fourth grade we had a color coded series of books and I am sure I must have read every one. Eventually I moved up to Nancy Drew and the Bobbsey Twins. Do yall remember the Weekly Reader Book Club? Wow! Such excitement when those new books came in! I sought out books everywhere. At Grandaddy Berts, in the old secretary, there were books of poetry and a copy of Oliver Twist that had that old, wonderful, musty real book smell! I even got in trouble for reading books! I started having a lot of nosebleeds and nobody could figure out why until Daddy found me under the covers reading with a flashlight HOURS after I should have been asleep. I had been doing that for weeks! Daddy understood because he loved to read too, but he explained that SO much reading may not be good for my health! :) But today I am grateful that God has always supplied me with books, especially His book, the Holy Bible.
