Day 6 of 7 for Gratitude 1. Working with Mike Kittel who was once my student and is now my co-worker and fellow artistic collaborator. he is a very gifted designer and an all around great guy. For the work he does teaching students in Build a Moments, and working with our Theatre Ambassadors at Park Square. I feel so thankful. 2. For theatre in my life. It has brought me lifelong friendships, deep joy and a sense of purpose. Theatre has helped to learn about so many new worlds. I have even been able to learn about history through theatre...a subject that always eluded me. 3. I am grateful for my neighborhood. I love to walk to restaurants and bookstores in the neighborhood and browse. I love the Grandview Theatre and the Highland Theatre, Cafe Latte and House of India, and Shish. It is safe and full of students...I am surrounded by colleges...St. Kates to the South, Macalester a few blocks away, St. Thomas to the West, Concordia to the east...Hamline to the North. Mac Groveland has been a great neighborhood in which to raise a child ...good schools...great people, green spaces, and safety...Dear God, what would it be like to live without safety? I nominate Amy Dickson to list 3 things each day for 8 days because I know she will inspire me.
