Day 7 of the Government Shutdown was a rainy Monday. I got in my long walk in the morning—before the rain. I decided it was as good a time as any to take something to the frame shop that had been sitting on the counter waiting to be framed. So I dropped that off. Since I was near District Taco in Arlington, I decided to go there for lunch. I really like their tacos, but the restaurant’s location doesn’t make that a typical mid-week lunch spot because it’s not near my office. That certainly wasn’t an issue on Day 7. I was home in time to see the first of several MLB playoff games on TV. I did a little knitting while watching the games. Claudia and I enjoyed the cinnamon raisin bread that I made last week, so I made some more, including a loaf for her to take to her office. I’m on the board of my homeowner’s association, and in the evening we interviewed a candidate to fill a vacancy for a lead maintenance technician. Later in the evening, I had my fill of baseball games (go figure), and so I watched a few episodes of last season’s Showtime series, “Ray Donovan.” I was hooked after the first episode.
